- Ensuring people take permission before entering your home
Make it a rule that people enter your house only after saying Salam and obtaining permission as prescribed by Allah SWT in the Glorious Qur’an (Suratul Nur, 24, 27-28).
RasululLah SallalLahu alaihi wa sallam said: It is not permissible for a Muslim to look inside any house until he has been given permission.”
(Bukhari, 1093).
Familiar guests, neighbours, friends or colleagues may sometimes barge into your home unannounced. This is perhaps because they assume a certain level of closeness to you and your family and see themselves as welcome all the time. They are violating Allah’s command and must be corrected. It is not permissible to enter any home without permission, the most appropriate being ‘Assalamu Alaikum’, may I come in?
